A really great and rare capture. I like the sharpness and the colours of this image. I'd like it even more if the birds were centered a bit more. Very cool anyways :)
:iconclaudeg:
dear Jona, the raw file was centered. I cropped a little bit. Original file size 4752x3168, output file size 4288x2859 :)

Huge resolution you have there :D It's totally okay to do that, I just thought that this specific subjetc would look better if it was completely in the middle of the picture. But that's just my personal opinion. You have great stuff, really impressive :)

Just wonderful,no nits. Are you happy with your 50D?
:iconclaudeg:
Hi Naki. I'm so happy about.
I changed my 1d MKII and bought a 50D. Although AF it's a little different (follow me, not in relative speed but in ai servo modes like fast, moderatly fast, slow etc. in 1d series) the 15Mp sensor and 1.6x factor are very useful in photographing little birds and bird photography in general: they give me a plus of 200mm in focal distance and a nice crop possibilities. Now I can crop and mantain a good size for print. With the 8Mp of 1d was a pain.

The major complain about 50D was the image quality. They say 15 mp is way too much for 1.6 crop censor but it is still 15mp and very attractive for nature photographers. I have an 8 mp 30D and I think it would be a big difference getting a 50D. I also shoot macro, 30D is ok for macro but for birds nothing is enough. :)
Thanks :)
:iconclaudeg:
mmm I shoot birds at around 400 or 800 iso... Rarely at 1600 iso. So, the image quality is very nice. At iso 800 it give me very crisp image and not too much noise.
In macro shots I never used it cause I own a 5d also and I prefer full frame for that. But I think you shoot macro at iso 100 or 200 for best image quality rarely 400 iso, so no difference with 30D or 40D, but double the size :) you also have the live view option, in macro is a plus for precise focus on little subject.
